An innovative mixed-use regeneration development in the heart of Swansea City; which will transform the site of the former Woolworth Store, providing affordable new homes and workspaces, alongside a community urban farm. The project will feature two south facing greenhouses at roof level, the largest of which will be serviced by an aquaponics system designed to produce up to 4.5 tonnes of fruits, vegetables, salads and herbs per year. The aquaponics system will create a continuous cycle where waste produced by fish, living in onsite tanks, adds nutrients to the water which feeds the greenhouse plants. The water is then filtered and recirculated back into the system.

Glanrhyd Hospital was originally opened in 1864 as the Glamorgan County Lunatic Asylum at Angelton, Bridgend. It was renamed Glanrhyd Hospital in 1948 and is currently administered by the Bridgend and District NHS Trust.

University Hospital of Wales (UHW), also known as the Heath Hospital, is a 1,080-bed hospital in the Heath district of Cardiff. The hospital was one of the first in the UK to combine patient care with teaching medical staff on site.

Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council recognised the importance of delivering a gateway project that would stimulate economic growth for Pontypridd. As a result the £42m Llys Cadwyn redevelopment of the former derelict Taff Vale Shopping Centre is a multiple-award-winning project. Pontypridd now benefits from three parallel buildings, including a vibrant new headquarters for Transport for Wales. The development has breathed new life into the river’s edge by creating public realm spaces and connecting both sides of the river with the striking new footbridge.

As proud electrical sub-contractors to Knox & Wells we are currently assisting with the restoration works to this Grade II Listed building, formally known as the Wesleyan Chapel, and was actually built by Knox & Wells in 1895. Now getting a post-industrial redevelopment as a centre for the arts and culture.

Named after the 1919 ‘Addison’ Act, which tasked local authorities with developing new homes to counter housing shortages post World War I, the highly innovative new block provides spacious, accessible and adaptable flats for older people, promoting independent living, as well as a range of communal facilities including lounges, a roof terrace overlooking the Bristol Channel, a medical room and a large communal garden. Addison House comprises of 44 highly energy-efficient, one and two-bed apartments for council rent, built to the highest standard.

The newly opened, £7 million Volvo Car Dealership at Cardiff Gate has a state-of-the-art car shopping and servicing facility with a Scandinavian touch. The showroom offers a host of modern amenities, including Volvo’s signature lounge area furnished with luxurious Scandinavian-style décor. Visitors can unwind in comfort while their vehicles are serviced. One of the standout features of the new centre is a unique interior viewing window, allowing customers to observe the work being done on their vehicles from the comfort of the lounge.
YSGOL PEN-BRE (Pembrey School)

Situated adjacent to the old school, this exciting new building was delivered by a local contractor TRJ – T Richard Jones (Betws) Ltd. The purpose-built school includes classroom provision for children aged 3-11 years, a Flying Start community hub, Art, Design, and Food Technology specialist areas, and a library space. Work has begun on the next Phase which includes the introduction of a new Sports Pitch, a Multiuse Games Arena as well as large landscaped play spaces including 2 outdoor classrooms.

The improvement works were carried out around a live Fire Station, and is a Considerate Constructor registered site, receiving 45/45 and a Bronze Award winner at the National CCS Awards.
HAY CASTLE

Overall winner of the 2024 Royal Society of Architects in Wales (RSAW) Building of the Year Award.
The restoration and refurbishment of this 17th Century, Grade I listed Castle has seen a change of use to the Manor House and outbuildings to create a public venue for education and the arts as well as an event space, cafe, ancillary office space and retention of existing retail units.

This state of the art facility designed for immersive learning and simulation. The project involved redesigning the existing facility to meet the changing vision of how clinical education and immersive simulation-based learning (SBL) programmes are operationalised. It's a first of its kind and the most innovative lead facility available for medical students from all over Europe.

This development brings new and innovative facilities to the Aberconway building at Cardiff Business School. This project reflects the University’s commitment to fostering a thriving student community. The extensive scope of the project provides a high spec, refurbished building which includes teaching spaces, post-graduation study spaces with ancillary breakout areas. As well as a new external canopy and associated landscaping.
